MEMBERSHIP:
1a. Prospective Membership Process
NEDC is a referral only. If you have someone in mind, who you believe shares our core beliefs, the process is as follows:
First, explain to the prospective member who we are and what we expect of members (need a refresher? read this document)
Did the prospect seem mildly interested? Did they just say “yeah sure without any follow up?” Then this might not be the individual for us. On the converse, did they seem crazy? Did they say “I have 1,200hp and am god’s gift to driving?” We do not need any more members, so there is no obligation for any current member to refer anyone. We want to grow our membership with enthusiastic, like minded individuals, we do need members who just want to say they are part of the club, and we do not need any bad apples.
If they pass your test and are genuinely interested, please reach out to Jason, Ed, Joe (or whoever they appoint to handle new membership inquiries) and tell us a little bit about this person, where they live, and what kind of car(s) and of motorcycles they own and any other information you may find relevant.
The prospect must attend one driving event and one non-driving event in which either Jason, Ed, or Joe attends first so they can be evaluated for membership.
A decision will be made and they will either be advised to fill out an application, or they will be politely turned away or put on a waiting list pending current membership.
1b. Member’s Rights
Members have the right to:
Be treated fairly, equally and with respect by NEDC, its Admins and other members.
Socialize in an environment free from all forms of harassment and discrimination as defined by Federal, State and Local Laws, e.g. Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act, Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act.
Privacy and confidentiality concerning any records, documentation and any other communication containing a member’s personal information, unless consent is specifically provided.
Be informed and actively involved in all NEDC events and offerings.
Voice their opinions, requirements and suggestions to the Admins and agents.
1c. Membership Fee
To obtain and maintain membership in NEDC you will need to be in good standing with respect to both your financial obligation to the club as well as your participation obligation. Participation is defined as attendance to our events and/or the sharing of knowledge via our online community. Determination of whether your participation obligation is met is at the sole discretion of the admins or their designated agents.
In order to maintain a level of both exclusivity as well as to ensure active members, there is a Membership Fee for your membership in NEDC. This Membership Fee is utilized at the discretion of the Admins and will be utilized only for NEDC related activities, whether deposits for venues, merchandise, insurance, etc. This yearly Fee DOES NOT cover any additional entry fees for events such as, but not limited to, track days, runway events, bbq’s, movies, business conferences, charity events, fundraisers, etc. With that said, the nominal amount for the Membership Fee was specifically selected to make NEDC accessible to anyone, regardless of their financial situation.
The Member Fee for 2026: $250.00 *
*Late Payment Penalty: We are all adults, paying your Membership Fees on time is the first sign of your respect and commitment to NEDC and to your fellow members. While we understand that life gets in the way, after many reminders that will be sent, if any member who is in current good standing, fails to pay their Membership Fee to NEDC by 30 days after the due date will have their dues increased, for that coming year to $299. There are no refunds.
Media Fee Waiver: If you are someone who provides Media or Marketing for NEDC and its Members, you will not be required to pay a membership fee so long as you maintain creating content and media for NEDC. This should be at minimum one photo shoot of a member’s car or a member event per month. All media must be delivered within 7 days of event/photo shoot unless otherwise specified or discussed. (This is the bare minimum, with typically 8 events a month there is plenty of opportunity to produce content for NEDC. NEDC can decide to decline your application for a Media fee waiver at its sole discretion. Anyone seeking to invoke this Media fee exception should contact an administrator directly. ANY AND ALL MEDIA IS PROPERTY OF NEDC AND IS CONSIDERED A WORK FOR HIRE.
1d. Communication – Online Participation – Social Media Policy
While we develop a better line of communication, Facebook will continue to be the main source of communication for NEDC.
We encourage all members to try to maintain online presence within NEDC, at least monthly whether in the Chat on WhatsApp or on Facebook. Every new member is required to post a detailed introduction, please include what you do, some hobbies (if you even have any besides cars) and a quick history of your current or past fleet. We find that this is a great way to break the ice.
While posting car or tech related articles that could spark conversation is encouraged, please refrain from using the NEDC page as a meme or spam dump. NEDC retains the right to remove any postings or content, at its sole discretion. DO post referrals on vendors you yourself have used, DONT post about you or your friend’s business before first asking one of the admins.
“But hey, I’m a paying member who chooses not to use fb, mostly because I’m difficult.”, muttered a fictitious member. Well we heard you and we will be giving paying members the option of getting event announcements via WhatsApp, email, or text so that you’ll never be stuck in the front row of one of our rented out movie theaters again.
We understand you want to show off NEDC on your social media channels and that is encouraged. Please tag the club in all of your content as you see fit. However, some things will not be tolerated:
No posting videos of street racing or doing pulls that clearly show violation of traffic laws (regardless of a lack of identifying street signs or geo tags in Mexico). If you must post this, do not tag NEDC or its affiliates in any way. If we have to remind you of this more than twice, you will be suspended or removed at the discretion of NEDC.
No posting nudity or sexual content.
We adhere to a strict don’t ask, don’t tell policy when it comes to politics. Nobody cares about your political opinions
1e. Suspension and Removal of Member from NEDC
NEDC reserves the right to suspend or remove members at its sole discretion.
Examples of reasons for removal or suspension from the club includes but is not limited to:
Violation of any of the provisions of Section 3a – 3e below;
RSVP no showing 2 times per quarter;
Failing to maintain minimum participation level as set forth in section 1above;
Any inappropriate behavior (sexual, ideological, racial, etc.) towards another member or guest of our members;
Placing NEDC into a negative light, or making questionable social media posting
There is no appeal right to any decision to suspend or remove a member, and any dues paid to date shall not be refundable.
EVENTS
An Event is essentially anytime our members get together on behalf of the club (dinners, cars and coffee, car shows, track days, runs, cruises, drives, etc.).
Wherever NEDC meets or gathers, consider it our home for that time frame. Please treat it as such, don’t leave any place we meet worse off than when we got there. We have all heard hundreds of cars and exhausts, we know exactly what they sound like, so please be respectful and under no circumstances:
Most of you wouldn’t do that in front of your homes so don’t do it in front of ours. It is incredibly fucking difficult to get venues to allow us to be there, the reasons being? Burnouts, revving, flybys etc. 95% of anyone’s customers don’t want that shit at their place of business. If you or your guests cost us a venue, or get us as much as a complaint from a place that we tirelessly worked at to get approval for, you will be held responsible, and you may face removal from NEDC.
2a. RSVP
In order for us to be able to avoid a logistics nightmare, it is very important that people RSVP to all events ahead of time. This helps us choose the right venue for the event and to begin to divide any associated costs (I.E. track days, runway rentals, etc.) If you say you are coming, please show up, as space may be limited for some events and by being a no show you selfishly robbed someone else who was willing to attend a spot and you wasted the organizers time by needlessly running under capacity. If you RSVP and no show (not including informal weekly dinners) more than 2 times per quarter, NEDC reserves the right to revoke your membership. When you reply Going to an event please list the car you will be bringing in the comment section
2b. Guests and Non-Members
If you have someone that you liked to bring as a guest to one of our events please make sure you think: does this person share NEDC’s core values of treating people with respect, if the answer is no, probably not best to bring them along, as they will most likely get roasted by some of the members. However, if the answer is yes, step two would be to reach out to the event organizer or one of the admins to ask permission to bring someone who isn’t a member along, for those who are hard of understanding, this does not apply to significant others.
You are responsible for the way your approved prospect/guest drives/carries him or herself on our drives and at our events.
With that said, NOT ALL EVENTS WILL HAVE GUESTS ALLOWED. Do not get insulted, it has nothing to do with your or the company you keep, some events will have limited space, and NEDC members will always have priority over any guest, we do not care ‘how dope their ride is’.
DRIVING – Check yourself, before you wreck yourself.
3a. Lead Car – Last Car
Every single one of our drives, whether to dinner, a cruise, a ‘run’, whatever you want to call it, will have a designated Lead Car and Last Car. If you are driving with the group, you SHALL NOT PASS THE LEAD CAR. The lead car knows the route we are taking and the pace at which the group will go, they are responsible for leading and looking forward for the entire group of petrol heads safely. Thus, the Lead Car should not be looking back to worry whether other cars in the group will follow you. The last car will drop back accordingly for any stragglers or those that are lost. It is the last line of defense, and also responsible for making sure no one is coming up from behind the group. Before each drive, there will be a short meeting where said Lead and Last Car will be designated. Feel free to volunteer.
If a drive is not fast enough for your liking, please sign up for a track day, suck it up and deal with it or kindly take the exit and leave after the next meeting point. NEDC will host multiple driving-oriented events per month that cater to different driving styles. Make sure you only sign up for the events that you feel comfortable doing, and under no circumstances try to bully or push people around on the road. This will not be tolerated.
3b. Blinkers – USE THEM – That means you BMW owners.
For the safety of all others, you must indicate, with your turn signals every one of your moves while out on the road. We cannot read your minds, we cannot anticipate your moves, and neither can the poor minivans you are passing. Unlike most of the time you are driving on the streets by yourself, odds are you will NOT be the fastest car in our group, so please make sure you signal every single lane change and double check your blind spots before changing lanes. If we are pulling over or trying to gather up the group, hazards must be turned on.
3c. Erratic or Reckless behavior – ZERO TOLLERANCE
Simple fact, none of you are racecar drivers, and we don’t give a shit if you think are. Any Erratic/unpredictable lane changes and reckless driving will simply not be tolerated. If you lane split, pass on the median, on/off ramp or shoulder, cross a double yellow, or pass under sketchy conditions, NEDC reserves the right to suspend your membership for a few events or remove the member all together. No one should be made to feel uncomfortable about the safety of their car/person due to another member’s driving and we do not need other drivers reporting the group. We do not need to be breathing up each other’s asses, maintain safe following distance, and please refrain from engaging in the typical road rage activity some of you New Yorkers love to experience.
3d. Gas – Radio – Car Condition
In order to not delay any planned events, try to arrive to events with a full tank of gas in your car, or enough gas to make it the first leg of any driving event.
On any driving event, we rely on radios for communication. We all generally use the ‘Baefong’ brand. Please make sure your radio is charged. If you are uncertain what radio to obtain, contact an Admin.
Before any driving event, please make sure your car is in good mechanical working order. Any care with improper equipment may be asked to leave at the discretion of NEDC admins. This means any car with corded or unsafe tires, or any ‘sketchy’ modifications will not be allowed for safety reasons.
3e. No roll racing or ‘digs’
We get it, you can floor it faster than anyone, please save that for ‘Mexico’. We do not go through the painstaking process of scouting routes and organizing drives so that you can slow everyone down and race in the middle of it. We further do not want to be associated with that type of behavior. Particularly, on highways, there is absolutely no reason to slow down and speed up consistently. On each drive, the group is to maintain a constant speed. Anyone slowing down to ‘do a 40 roll’ may face suspension or removal. This is blatant street racing that causes traffic to slow down and get very angry, which is usually followed by civilians video taping and or calling into authorities. Further, you are proving absolutely nothing. You are putting everyone in that drive at the risk of getting pulled over or worse, an accident. NEDC RELIES ON THE MEMBERS TO POLICE THEMSELVES, SO IF YOU SEE SOMEONE ACTING UP, SAY SOMETHING.

NEDC allows any of its members to join any other car club, local or otherwise.

4d. Liability
NEDC shall not be held liable for any loss or damage due to fire, theft, weather, vandalism, negligence, or accidents at any Event that NEDC hosts or Member attends.
NEDC RELEASE, WAIVER OF LIABILITY, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
ALL NORTHEAST DRIVER’S CLUB SANCTIONED EVENTS
I, (“ME”, “I”, or “Releasor”) IN CONSIDERATION of being permitted to participate, attend, observe, or participate in any way in any NorthEast Driver’s Club (“NEDC” or “Releasee”) sanctioned events and/or being permitted to enter for any purpose any EVENT(S) (defined to be any NEDC event which requires special authorization, credentials, or permission to enter or any area to which admission by non-members is restricted or prohibited), I, for myself, my personal representatives, heirs, and next of kin:
1. I acknowledge, agree, and represent that I have or will immediately prior to arriving at any EVENT as described in the NEDC Rules of Conduct, and will continuously thereafter, inspect me vehicle to make sure it is in safe and proper mechanical working order, and further agree and warrant that, if at any time, I feel anything to be unsafe, I will immediately advise and NEDC Admin of such and if necessary will leave the EVENT and/or refuse to participate further in the EVENT(S).
2. I HEREBY RELEASE, WAIVE, DISCHARGE AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE NEDC, its Admins, promoters, participants, racing associations, sanctioning organizations or any subdivision thereof, track operators, track owners, officials, car owners, drivers, pit crews, rescue personnel, any persons in any EVENT, promoters, sponsors, advertisers, owners and lessees of premises used to conduct the EVENT(S), premises and event inspectors, surveyors, underwriters, consultants and others who give recommendations, directions, or instructions or engage in risk evaluation or loss control activities regarding the premises or EVENT(S) and each of them, their directors, officers, agents and employees, all for the purposes herein referred to as “Releasees,” FROM ALL LIABILITY TO ME, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin FOR ANY AND ALL LOSS OR DAMAGE, AND ANY CLAIM KNOWN OR UNKOWN OR DEMANDS THEREFOR ON ACCOUNT OF INJURY TO MY PERSON, CAR, OR PROPERTY OR RESULTING IN MY DEATH ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE EVENT(S), WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.
3. I HEREBY AGREE TO DEFEND, INDEMNIFY AND SAVE AND HOLD HARMLESS the Releasee and each of their affiliates FROM ANY LOSS, LIABILITY, DAMAGE, OR COST they may incur due to claims brought against ME arising out of or related to my actions, injury ,or death from the EVENT(S) WHETHER CAUSED BY THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE.
4. I HEREBY ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY RISK OF BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE arising out of or related to the EVENT(S) whether caused by the NEGLIGENCE OF RELEASEES or otherwise.
5. I HEREBY acknowledge that THE ACTIVITIES OF THE EVENT(S) ARE VERY DANGEROUS and involve the risk of serious injury and/or death and/or property damage. I also expressly acknowledge that INJURIES RECEIVED MAY BE COMPOUNDED OR INCREASED BY NEGLIGENT RESCUE OPERATIONS OR PROCEDURES OF THE RELEASEES.
6. I HEREBY agree that this Release and Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement extends to all acts of negligence by the Releasees, and is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by the laws of the State or Province in which the Event(s) is/are conducted and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
7. I HEREBY agree this Agreement shall be binding upon and enforceable against me, my personal representatives, spouse, assigns, heirs, and next of kin without limitation and shall be in full force and effect for all EVENT(S) during the calendar year.
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT AND THE NEDC CODE OF CONDUCT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS BY AGREEING TO IT, AND HAVE AGREED TO IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME AND INTEND MY ACKNOLEDGEMENT TO BE A COMPLETE AND UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE OF ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW.
